Garcia's Mexican Restaurant opened on
Central Avenue Halloween night, 1983! We are proud of our
25 years of serving our customers. The Albany Garcia's
is owned and operated by Rick Lamparelli (the original manager
of the Albany Restaurant) and is looking forward to serving
you for the next 20 years as well!
Albany 's Garcia's Mexican Restaurant has
its roots in Scottsdale, Arizona and originally was a franchisee
of that one time popular national chain, "Garcia's of Scottsdale ".
Your Albany Garcia's split off from Garcia's of Scottsdale
a number of years ago and is a "Licensee", which entitles us to use
the name, logo and original recipes - but also allows us
to pretty much do whatever we decide works for us in Albany!
And, there really was a "Julio
and Olivia" Garcia and most of our Mexican selections trace
their origin to the original recipes created in the Garcia
family kitchen in Phoenix, over 50 years ago. Today, your
Albany Garcia's Mexican Restaurant prepares your food fresh
daily in our own kitchen using only the finest of quality
of ingredients.
As many of you know, Garcia's opened in Albany on Central Avenue 25 years ago and moved across the street in September of 1999.
So why did Garcia's make the move? There are a number of reasons, in no particular order.
The "new location" is better
because...
- You can enter
or leave the lot by four different curb cuts.
- The windows across the front
make the place look "great from the road".
- The
parking lot is in the front yard, the 1st customers literally
get to park "at
the front door" (there is a HUGE overflow lot behind
the restaurant).
- The traffic
light just 50 feet away stops traffic to make it so much
easier to get in and out onto Central Avenue.
- Great
new fresh look for the new century (complete with state of
the art rooftop heating, cooling, exhaust, refrigeration
and kitchen equipment).
- There are
four hotels in walking distance.
The "old" location had to go because.
- We were tiring
of passing off the roof leaks as "Authentic Mexican Décor".
- The "new" location
we are in now became available.
- The "left
hand turn" out
of the old building was brutal onto Central Avenue at
rush hour (and not "great" the rest of the day, either).
We sincerely hope you enjoy the "new" Garcia's Mexican Restaurant as much as we do! |
